Employer health plan savings calculator
Self-funded employers pay claims directly, so overpayment lands on the plan rather than an insurer. This estimates the annual range a plan of a given size could recover, and states what that figure does and does not account for.
How the estimate is calculated
The range applies 8–12% to the annual plan spend entered above. It is a projection at the plan level, not a quote, a guarantee, or a review of any specific plan.
- It does not account for plan design, network arrangements, vendor contracts, or claims history — all of which move the real figure in either direction.
- It assumes spend is reviewable. Claims that cannot be obtained at the procedure, setting, and network-status level cannot be verified.
- A plan-specific number comes from reviewing actual claims, not from applying a rate to a total.
The review that produces a real number is VeriAct, which examines claims at the procedure, setting, and network-status level and attributes each finding to the responsible vendor or plan-design decision.
